Default 1450 hydro issue.

The last 3 weeks, it seemed the tractor was using more effort than usual to move. RPMs are 3600 by the tach. Yesterday, I was mowing and went to stop but the brakes didn't hold because the lever didn't return to neutral. I made another round and when I stopped to back up, the lever won't go into forward or reverse. I removed the tunnel cover and the linkage is trying to move, but the plate on the trunnion isn't trying to move. Hydro filter was changed this year. Trunnion was redone about 2 years ago. Thank God I have the auto valves and was able to push her home & into the shed.

Is there a question? Or were you just posting to tell us you had issues that you intend to follow up, on and post pics and detail the repair?

Question? Yes, anyone have any idea what happened and how to repair the ole gal? I'll get the fender pan off this morning and post pics.

Well.... why don't you take the fender pan off, inspect the linkage, look things over and see if the issue isn't obvious before we spend a bunch of time posting the 10 or so possibilities that it could be, only for you to come back and say "Nevermind, it was a broken bolt" or something simple....

J-Mech, I's say you have a lot more time in repairing these old tractors than I do. I will remember your advise on what to do before posting going forward. Seems a pin in a clevis on the brake pedal rod came out. I couldn't / didn't see it when I removed the tunnel cover. The white conduit is pointing to it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
