Have been wanting a 1864 for the power steering for awhile now . In hind sight I wish i had bought one when i found my 1812 , which has been good tractor and it was a good deal when i bought it 525hrs and a 44c deck and a 551 blower for $750 . I went to a local auction knowing it was a 82 series with power steering but didn't know anything else about it .I talked with the homeowner and he bought it brand new and only had about .25 acre that he mowed with it . The tractor only has 402 hrs on a working meter and a 44GT deck with it . I ended up getting it for $700 and can't be happier with it . What a difference the power steering makes and it is a good bit bigger physically than the 1812 even though there both 18hp . and the sound of the engine is quite different also from the mag 18 in the 1812 . Now i am doing the service things to it , engine oil & filter , Hydro oil & filter new set of Champion plugs and a new air filter . I am looking for a new set of ags for the rear and have come across OTR Lawn Trac in a 23x10.50x12 . I haven't been able to find any information on them , I really like the looks and wonder if they are true to size .I have a set of BKT's on the 1812 and they definitely run to the small size . 1864.jpg

I don't know anything about those tires
Other than I was looking at the same ones for my 2084 (only 26x12x12) I'm going to go on them here in a couple weeks.

I really like the looks of them , I was looking for some feedback on them before I pulled the trigger on them , From what little I have read they are a factory tires on some Kubota tractors .

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
