Default Original Plow

Hello everybody..
I bought a plow and subframe for my 100 the other day and it turns out it's a plow and subframe for an Original. It is in really nice shape. Would it be too much trouble to modify it, or should I try to trade for the correct one?
Thanks
Mike

So, it's the "sleigh runner" type sub frame with the nice curve??

If so, I'd look for the correct one and not wreck that one.
You could more than likely sell the curved one to someone w/an 'O'

Throw a couple pictures on here, will ya? You being PA, you're pretty much in the Cub Cadet capital and you're bound to have some interest if people can see it. Or place an ad.

Judging from the lift point on the main frame that appears to be a plow for an original and it would be a crime to butcher it to make it fit anything else!!!

Do you have the lift arm for it as well?? Should be a funky looking thing with one end bent into an eye and the other a 90* bend with a few weird curves in length of it.

I wish you were closer I would take it off your hands for $$ AND the correct plow for your 100!!

Unfortunately I do not have the lift arm. I'm gonna try to sell it or swap it. I really don't want to modify it.

You can actually use the blade and all you need to trade out is the subframe. That might make swapping easier. I would swap you if you wanted to have us each pay for shipping. You can pry it off of the mounts using a 3 point lift bar with a little persuasion.

The lift bracket on the A frame seems to be in the wrong spot also. It is in the middle of the tractor and not offset much. Thanks for the offer but I'm gonna try to trade or sell the whole shebang locally.
Peace

That's because the lift rod for use on an '0' fastens under the frame to the rock shaft and exits under the front of the tractor.
Hence the special lift rod and A-frame are for an '0' and specifically for an '0'
As mentioned before, keep these pieces together as a unit, I can guarantee you someone will be glad to have them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
