Default 1782 Cub & Snow Blower
I have my 1782 Cub with liquid filled Tires & Iron weights on the rear. Just bought the 551 Snow Blower. Got it installed today and went out to throw some snow here in PA. I kept getting stuck.. Seems like this blower is too heavy on the front of the tractor. Before I go any further would chains help the rear tires and get me through the snow? I mean I went absolutely no where today. Let me know your thoughts or ideas?

Absolutely. I never run my 784 in the winter, without chains.

chains, loaded tires, wheeeeel weights, and a cab, help lots

I have a 2182 (basically gas version of your motor) If you are interested I run a cut down reverse pitch fan that blows the radiator heat towards the operator. I have to snow blow with one cab door open or the heat is too much!
it fit perfect other than the length of the blades which were easy to cut down. I confirmed balance on my blade balancer
12599-74110 Fan - Pusher - for Kubota Engine - OEM - NOS $25.50 on the "bay" I am sure kubota has others that will fit as well.

You wont want to use this while cutting grass. The radiator filter/screen and the screens in the side panels will be useless and your radiator will likely clog up.

I have your basic setup plus a sims cab. I find steering difficult even on pavement with the blower weight completely off the lift. Two drives I snowblow are gravel so I clear them about two inches up otherwise the gravel gest sent into the grass. My neighbor down the road has blacktop- if I drop the blower all the way down it is quite difficult to steer.
