Default Fuel Line Downsize?
All,

My 1650 has a 3/8 fuel line. I need to replace the shutoff, but can only find a 1/4 inch shut off (for under $60) . Anyone had issues downsizing to a 1/4 inch line? I have read the K341 can be affected by a lack of proper fuel flow.

I don't see any issues with a 1/4 fuel line. I would do it.

I doubt you have a 3/8" ID fuel line, 5/16"or 1/4" would be closer to the norm.
Look at those inline fuel shut off cocks at a good hwd. store in the lawnmower section, and agreeing with Oak that 1/4" will work just fine,
V8 engines for many years, back in the day, used 5/16" fuel lines.

All the QL's I have ever had used 3/8" fuel line from the tank to the carb elbow.
Is the shut off leaking or is it that you need a new grommet/bushing in the tank?
The valve has a filter as part of the assembly and is a friction fit in this bushing.
You will have to replace the elbow as well if you go with a smaller fuel line.

After closer inspection, it was the seal that was leaking, not the valve. I had a spare one from the last time I replaced it.

If anyone has a quiet line, and you don't use 9.62 inches of fuel line, the line will interfere with the throttle valve operation....ask me how I know...
