So I only seem to mow at the highest the deck will go, sometimes I'm down one, but only in the lighter areas. Can I adjust the deck up to have more mowing options thru the range? Less low more high! It seems the way it is now its set to maintain greens at the golf course...

Ex Factory the cutting height was 1.5 to 4 inches
My first suggestion if not already done would be level deck 1/8 to1/4 inch tilt to front , level side to side Next would be to check the Bracket lift index mounted on frame under seat to see if it has been modified or is loose , that is what the lift handle locks into If that does not fix get back to me Oz

Are you saying you do not have full range lift with the deck? If you hold the button in you can't move it up and down between 1" and 4"? How hard is it to lift? Let me ask a silly question, is the front link (U shaped(red arrow)) between the frame and the deck connected? I bought my GT2544 because that front link had disconnected (the retainer was bent (green arrow)) and the guy could not lift the deck so he tightened both lift assist springs as far as he could to get the deck up some but then decided to sell it because he could no longer move the deck up and down and was scalping the grass.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
