Default Looks like this is goodbye

I've come to the conclusion that the only tractor that will suit my needs properly is a compact utility type tractor. I've had my Cub and it's just too small, and I've had field tractors, but I need to work in some areas that are tough to access with a large tractor.

I recently found a Bolens G172 compact with a 17 horse diesel, 3 pt and a rear PTO for a very good price in my area, but buying it means the Cub must go. It's mostly a room issue. My shop in town is full to the brim with tools and materials, and I don't have room in the garage here at home. I could let it sit outside, but I'd rather let someone who really needs it have it. I'll keep checking this site though, and I do plan to get another Cub down the road.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and tips!

Wow, Stitch!! That seems unreal hearing it from you. I will give you the same advice that I gave to a close friend of mine who offered to sell me his original, think about it for at least one more week. If you still feel the same way, then so be it--but give it one more week!! He ended up not only keeping his original but also getting a blade off of me for it. I would have loved to have his original but I knew how much fun he had on it and thought he would really miss it. Life isn't always about making the right decision....no one ever does make the right decision, instead it is about making the decision right. Whatever you decide, I'm glad that you are a member and will continue to be a member on this forum!!! Personally, I hope that you are able to keep it!!

I'm sure it'll take me at least that long to get a bite on it anyway, so we'll see what happens.

If you decide to sell make sure to offer it up here first as I am sure someone on here would like what you got.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
