Default Cub Cadet 122 frame

Hey guys,

Bought a 122 a couple weeks ago. The PO cut out a section of the frame where the creeper gear slot and breather hole was. I'm assuming it was to access driveshaft pin. If somebody could measure how wide the creeper gear slot is supposed to be that would be awesome. I plan on cutting out a piece of 1/8" plate and patch it in.

Thanks,
Brian

That hole is pretty big.The frame looks to be for a 123 as there is a larger cutout for the hydro linkage .

I must have a later frame because mine also has the hole in the side of the frame for the hydro adjustment. I've read the later 122's share the frame with the 123's.

mortten- dimensions would be great!

I will get you a drawing in the morning. I didn't think about frame sharing with the 123. I think mine is a 1966.

Hey mortten wanna get out the tape measure for me again. The bolt holes on my hood are all egged out. Wondering if you could give me a measurement to the center of the hole.

Thanks,
Brian

The hole is 3/8" diameter. The center is 1" from the bottom and 1 3/32" from the front. There is also a thick washer welded to the back of the hole for reinforcement. Don't know if those are intact on yours. I can send some pics if you need them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
