I got an IH blade last week. It runs all the way under the tractor to the trailer hitch spot and attaches there, and then hes two arms that are meant to attach to my deck lift arms underneath. The problem is the entire blade assembly appears to be a little long, so the lift arms don't match up quite right. I currently have them hooked together with chains to keep the blade straight and have been using rope to manually raise and lower the blade.........but this ..............sucks.
Is there anything anyone has done to fix this problem aside from cutting the blade assembly and welding it back together 3 inches shorter? I'll post pics in a few minutes.

It's on a 100. I may be doomed to lifting it manually, but I sure hope not!

It said it was mounted on a 100 in the last post (above the picture),and to get a good picture of the whole blade, I'd have to take it back off of the tractor, and that ain't happening. I'll see what I can do about getting better pic when I get home later.

Stitch,
That snowblade looks to be off of a cub cadet lawn tractor! That is the way they hook up on a lawn tractor. That isn't going to fit on the 100 without some mods. |

Stitch I have never seen a set up like that on a GT cub before. It looks like something that has been taken off a LT style cub. Not saying it won't work but modifications will have to be made.

I'm actually thinking about trying to put pulleys and cables that hang from the bottom of the tractor, that way the lift will work, only backwards.

That blade is for a late 80s CCC-built, plastic-hood lawn tractor. If you buy the correct blade and subframe for your 100, you will have no problems attaching it.

I know Matt, but this one was free and just down the road. I THINK I've got it so it'll work. I'll post some pics when I know for sure.
Thanks everyone!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
