Hello. I purchased a 782D this weekend. I believe it was made by CCC. All I have is IH built tractors so this is new to me, not to mention the Diesel. Anyway, is there a 3pt hitch that will work on this tractor besides the category 0? I looked on a parts listing and I don't see one like the ones that go on IH models.
Thanks, Earl

I just went through the same quest myself. I found out that to use a WIDE FRAME three pt. hitch on my 1811, a CCC tractor, I had to get one of the shown bottom brackets made for an aluminum rear end and two frankenstien bolts from Patton acres, one of our sponsors above. I am not sure that the 782 has the same frame holes that mine does but I think it does. It has two large holes that are way too big for the rod that goes through the casting on the hitch. The two bolts take care of this problem. The bottom bracket is designed to not put the stress on the three bolts in the rear tranny cover plate but to use two of the axel bolts as well. If you buy the bracket from Extreme MW get the one that has the extra ears on it. The one with the two extra inner ears are for utensils that might bend the one ear model. Here are a couple of pictures of the bolts on my tractor.

You can't install a sleeve hitch on a 782D. The gas tank is in the way. Cat 0 3pt is the only way you can go.

Ditto. Kinda stinks forking over $500 but then you have a pretty sweet hitch setup.

Starter too slow to crank? Gear reduction starter is the way to go and the little D600 Kubota power plant does not like cool weather either. Good luck and hopefully enjoy!

Thanks for all the help. I am kind of disappointed and can't afford the $500 now, because I just spend $2100 for the tractor. Maybe in a few months. Thanks for the advice on what to watch for on these also. I love the sound of the diesel, and the smell. I fire it up each morning before I go to work. Pretty soon I'll be able to get out and work it. Thanks again.
Earl

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
