Default My dummy for the day incident...

Now that I have the oil changed,the rear swapped and the Ag's on my newly acquired 128, I have been mowing with it to see how it will hold up. So far so good..until last night.I road-ed it 1/8 mile out the road to Dustin's house to help him mow his yard. I started mowing and noticed it was leaving streaks every so often. I just thought the grass was tall and tough.When I finally made it to the thicker grass,I could see the spindles stopped. A quick look and I seen the belt was way loose. So, we headed home and I started working on the trouble. It looked like the PTO belt (almost new and used 5-10 times) had stretched 2-3 inches. I kept trying to tighten it up but no help. I even took the J bolt that adjusts on the front of the mule drive off and looked at it. I took the belt off and compared to the brand new one here and it was the same length. When I went to re install the belt,I found the trouble. Seems the back deck hanger unhooked off of the mule drive letting the mower creep forward so there wasn't enough tension to tighten the belt. Guess I should be happy that nothing was wrong..
After using this 128, I have seen a big difference between the 3 digit Cubs vs the QL's. I still would like to replace the 1200's motor,but now I am taking a liking to getting rid of it and maybe getting a 129 or 149. The hydro would be great.

After using this 128, I have seen a big difference between the 3 digit Cubs vs the QL's. I still would like to replace the 1200's motor,but now I am taking a liking to getting rid of it and maybe getting a 129 or 149. The hydro would be great.
