I've dimantled and blasted my deck...have all the spindles off. In trying to dismantle the spindles am having some trouble...the pully nut on top...is it a regular right hand thread ? maybe I need to have an air impact to get them off ? any info / experiance is appreciated..
tks, Bryan |

Air impact may be the way to go. I used this technique last sunday on the center spindle top (grease fitting nut) on a 102 mower deck. It came right out.
Yes it is a standard right hand thread as far as I know thats assuming that the deck spindle is the same on a 1450 deck as other. Do you like the 1450? I have my eye on a 1450 that is setting in a barn needs lots of TLC. Current owner says it runs but has no reverse? It has wheel weights and mower deck too. Any idea what its worth? Regards, Chris

as long as your blades spin in a clockwise rotation, then yes it should be right hand thread (this way it is always tightening while in use).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
