Default Update

I have owned the sweeper for a little over 2 years. It's kinda wierd how I found it too. I was talking with some friends at work and I had mentioned that I bought a Craftsman Professional series 44" sweeper (beause the pro model is yellow and black). One guy spoke up immediately and said "I have a sweeper I don't even use- that I would have sold ya" He said they fill up too fast with leaves so he quit using it. I don't have leaves, but I sweep the grass off my lawn every time I cut. So I told him I would buy it just as a spare unit. (He mentioned that he bought it from his elderly neigbor who had bought it new). At this point,we had never even dicussed the make or any other details of it. The next day he said he brought it with him to work. You can imagine my SURPRISE when I looked over his truck box! Not bad for $75.00 I thought. I only use it sparingly maybe 2or3 times a year and only on DRY grass. My neigbors love to see me out in my 2.5 acre lawn playing with my Cubs. Brian

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
