I'm currently looking at a 149 localy...
it looks to be in good shape, has hyd lift and is hydro trans.. it comes with a sleave hitch, plow, the mowing deck ( not sure of the size ) and also includes another running 149 with lift... the main tractor seems to run well, no issues that i can tell, decent paint and body, and has a nice set of AG tires on the rear.. my question is what is a fair price to pay for this considering the main tractor is in good condition. the parts tractor is just being " thrown in " but it looks like it could be restored... Im planning on picking this tractor up tomorrow evening. |

For everything it should be worth $500-1000, they are a great little tractor, you will love them! They are the first generation of WF tractors, kind of a blending of NF and later WF combined into one.

I sold my 149 for $475. It ran good, had a nice Craftsman seat on it, one new front tire and 48" deck but smoked pretty good. It sat a long time before I got it for $100. I had $25 into it and a few hours making things work good again including pulling the head and cleaning out the debri before turning the engine over. Getting carb loose and cleaned. Replace seat with one I had laying around. Maybe that will help you get an idea?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
