Does anyone on here have any experience with one of these machines? They look pretty effective on some of the videos I have seen and cost less than a skid steer. Seem like it would be pretty handy around the farm. Anyone wanna put in their two cents?

I have one, the psi on the tracks is so low, you need cleats on the tracks to do anything.
Mine has never had cleats, but, I never tried to make it "work". I got a 1872 shortly after getting the Struck, the 1872 made the Struck a "Shop Ornament" . |

I appreciate the advice. I have some rental property and thought it would be good for moving dirt and gravel around in the yards and also for moving around gravel inside of block before we pour the slabs. Weve been using a small Deere with a blade on the front but it doesnt turn very tight and tends to sink in loose gravel. I was thinking a small piece of machinery such as this would be handy for those types of situations.
The initial cost of a skid steer is way too much for the little bit of use that I would get out of it but renting one for an extended period of time can be pretty costly as well. Im kind of in a pickle. |

It currently has a tired 5hp flat head Briggs IC engine. This winter it will have a new 7hp Briggs electric start.
![]() Drive is belt, manual lift blade and it has a sleeve hitch (OOOHHH!! That will get you dreaming!!)! I think that is a Gravely 2 wheeler blade. I think that from what the Gravely guys say about 2 wheeler blades having more curve and can roll snow better. The flat tracks go right over concrete!! No damage. Reasonable traction in dirt, really needs "cleats". |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
