I have a friend that is wanting to sell this 682 and he is wanting to know what it is worth. I have not seen it yet. He is the original owner, it is an IH built with CI rear, I don't know if it is a series 1 or 2 but it looks like a 1. He said it has less than 500 hours, is serviced regularly and does not use oil. This tractor is all original and looks to be in great shape. I would love to have it but I want him to get a fair price for it.

I concur, between $750 and $1000. It looks to have a Series I Air Cleaner on it but it is also in excellent condition. Nice tractor.

Sometimes Todd, its nice to have friends. There are those who help a buddy sell for good money, and then there are some who allows the buddy to sell it cheap so you can get one of the best looking 682 Ive ever seen to be all original. You better be all over that like stink on rice!!

You MAKE room for that nice of a gem. It still has all the light fixtures, emblems, and the paint has a nice shine to it. Hard to find them in that nice original condition any more. Red loves to fade!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
