Default Update on the 1810

As previously posted, I broke my 1810 about 5min into using it for the first time. Turns out the coupling near the drive unit broke tearing apart both flex joints. The rear of the driveshaft fell tearing apart the fan and the hydro filter. Waiting on a new coupler to arrive then gonna get it all put back together.
We had our baby on Saturday morning, a little boy. Mom and baby are doing good and dad is feeling slightly deprived of sleep..lol. Hopefully we can get the tractor ready soon, but obviously it's not on my list of priorities at the moment.
Can't wait to take my son on his first tractor ride..hopefully I can find him some little ear plugs!

Congratulations! You know what your son will be looking for in about 30 years, an 1810 just like his dad had when he was a kid.

Got the 1810 back from the shop. Needed new rag joints, a new fan, and a new filter. Ran great and was able to use it for about an hour before breaking it again..lol. I was mowing right along and smaked the deck on a tree stump and broke the cradle. The deck then fell halfway off and under one of the rear tires. I was able to take the deck the rest of the way off and load it back up on the trailer. Went home and welded everything back up..went to fire everything back up only to realize that the drive belt was smoked.
After getting everything replaced and going again..went to mow..made it about 5 ft and the actual deck belt broke and I was only able to mow with the center blade
Now I have it all taken back apart again and need to order another belt.

If it wasnt for bad luck, I wouldnt have any luck at all.

Hm.......................sounds like you also need a stump grinder to go along with that new belt !!

I've gone through quite a few mule drive belts over the years, but for me deck belts don't tend to go as often. Make sure the idler pulley is putting tension on the belt, idler pulley moves free and easy, and all 3 spndles turn free and smooth.

Now that you've had your share of troubles you'll be running trouble free for the rest of the year! That's a really solid tractor, your little guy will be running it when he's a teenager.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
