Ryan,
Nice save from the scrapper. At least the exhaust and mag are covered. Got cast wheels all the way around. How are the rims? Worse part about I see for ya are the tires. Tires are so freakin' expensive nowadays...... The old F series are about like a John Doe 2 cylinder. If you have a pair of pliers, screwdriver, and wire, you can make em run. I've spent some time on the seat of Dad's F20 and F30. The F30 is a beast.

Congrats.........

Not into these yet but this will make a great project tractor for you. Great that the engine is free and turning.
New rubber will make any old tractor look much better. Yea its not cheap for new skins even on cubs. But if your gong to do it you got to jump in. Thanks for posting the picture. Great looking tractor.
Regards,
Chris

CAD plans-Yes, those wheels are similar. Theyve been around for quite a few years

Josh-Thanks, you hit it right on the nose...itl need tires. I did get an extra set of cast centers and rims...I dont think the rims are rusted out on it but just in case theres a spare set waiting. My dad has a 39 also and he repainted his and started farming with it while in college...so when I found this one and told him I was going to buy it, he was pretty proud. It was the first tractor that I know of that he owned, so I want to make it my first. I just can't believe the darn thing is still loose...itl be running in no time.

Nice find!
I learned to plow on grandpa's F-20. That old hors still fires up with a 1/4 turn of the crank. Take care of it and it will outlive your grandchildren.
Grandpa still swears the biggest mistake Farmall ever made was replacing the F-20 with the H. No tractor of similar size compares to it.

Nice find on the F-20! It's a late one, being a 39. 39 was the year the lettered series came out.

The only thing the H had on the F-20 is that the H had 3 mains while the F-20 only had 2

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
