Default Questions about a CC 73
I've found a Cub Cadet 73 with fenders and a deck for sale. The guys asking 400. He said it runs (which I've not heard yet) and that the original 7hp kohler has been replaced with an 8hp. Didn't think to grab my camera, but its in pretty good shape deck and all. Is 400 reasonable? Do they mow good? (grandpa's pretty picky) and does the 8hp have enough power to push snow?

Mike yes to all questions! The 8 hp are factory replacements for the 7hps. I wuld not let that bother me one bit. The 73's are pretty rare too!

I went back and told the guy that I'd buy it and got some pics. Thought it was a 73 but it turned out to be a 71. I stll want it.

That 71 is a lot nicer than mine that I got and I paid $100 for it and put about $400 in it. The seat pan is interesting with the holes all around the back mine is all smooth.

One of my 100's has a seat like that. I believe, they are from other brands of garden tractors.

My 73 has pushed snow all day long, when the snow was 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up the blade when in the down position and the engine power has never let me down.....just my regret over having not gotten some chains, as I got stuck a couple of times.

Your 71 looks to be in great shape. Grandpa should be very pleased with his grandson's find!
