Default New to Cub

Well, I decided I need a Cub tractor. I'm looking at a 128 with the rear scrape blade, no mowing deck. Also a 1966, 102 with the mowing deck.

Now here goes,
1. If I buy the 128 can I add a mowing deck?
2. How does the rear scrape blade lift.

Now the 102
Can I add rear lift to the 102?

Thanks so much, I really love what I have seen and read about these tractor.

The answer to your questions. Yes, you can add a deck to a 128 depending if all the necessary parts are there and Yes you can get a lift for a 102.
Now here is some helpful info if you didn't know
The 102 has a 10 hp is a narrow frame tractor.
And the 128 has a 12 hp and is a wide frame tractor. just my two sense.
I know someone will chime in with a better answer.

Your best thing to do would be go to the technical library tractor part of the website and download the owners and service manuals. That will get you going in the right direction for your tractors.

Thanks for the help. Is the rear scrape a manual lift?

I think that would depend on what tractor you had it on. But manual lift for the 102 for sure.

Is there any possible chance you can get both?
That way you can use the one for mowing and the other will have the rear blade.

With the 102 you could add the hydraulic lift to it and the 128 had an electric lift. Both will handle the rear blade. As susggested the tech section has tons of info in there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
