i have had a few old garden tractors through the years but just got my first cub a few weeks ago. I have a 147 Hydrostatic with a snowblower, tiller with both extensions and a mower deck. this tractor was bought new by my wifes grandfather, kinda cool we have it now. i plan on fixing it up to use and make it a show piece later but still to be used. got the parts to rebuild the clutch today, pretty wore. I need the gear box for the back of the tractor to run the tiller, but all in time. I am an avid vintage snowmobiler and have a vintage sled bussiness. I love three wheelers and trail ride them and have way to many off them.

I do not have any pics of it yet. i should of took some of when i first got it, it was covered in vines and moss. took me about 3 hours walking around the place to find the snowblower and the tiller, i knew they were there. Even had to cut some trees to get the tiller out. amazing everthing turns and moves freely. there is a Cub dealer near me that is run by a great guy. Today i brought the 147 there and said i need stuff for the clutch, he came out looked at it and less than 5 minutes later i had all the parts I needed. I will post up a few pics soon.

MBS,
Welcome to OCC. I completed a 147 last year. I like it, and would get another if I could. Just like the old narrow frames. You will have a lot of fun with that tractor. The thrower and tiller are good projects also. If I can help let me know. Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
