I'm most likely going to pick up another 123 hydro lift as a parts/winter tractor. It's in a "neglected" state. I know it needs a motor/gen and a carb. I've replaced a motor/gen on my other 123 and have part #'s for that alread. I can't make heads or tails of all the carb info, though. It's a K301AS spec 4759B and i've looked at a few carb's and it looks like the kohler part # would be 47 853 21-S. Looking at the spec sheet I see a K301-4759 works for that carb. Is there much a difference? Would that carb work? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a few used ones in various degrees of missing parts. I"m looking for a NEW one for this tractor so I get it running now then I can mess with all the other parts I have to rebuild one or two of them in my spare time.

There are part #'s 20-S thru 30-S. All are similar pricing but I know a guy who can get it for about $100. Just need to know the proper part #.

You can't really buy a new equivalent carb anymore. My guess is if you buy one of those, you'll either get a Walbro non-adjustable POS, or some terrible-quality reproduction of the original carb.
It takes perhaps a couple of hours to rebuild a carb if you have all the parts...either find the parts you are missing or buy a complete carb and rebuild it. Buying a new one doesn't really make any sense at all. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
