Default Barn Find

I found a nice piece of equipment the other day. I have only seen pictures of it up until now. The retired farmer used it to sweep the corners of his chicken houses. He used it on a 126 and both were bought new. He didn't have the 126, but I was happy to get this sweeper.

I didn't really know that they were hard to come by until I did some reading. What's the value on this thing? I haven't got any idea.

Sweet find!
Usually if you can find one, the brushes are all worn out or the plastic shield is busted up. That one looks to be in great shape. Congrats!

Its my experience, as a collector for years, of many things; value can only be determined by the buyer and seller. Thjere are so many variables like condition, rarity, area and the need to sell vs the desire to buy. Any time the seller and buyer walk away happy, it was a good deal.

I was going to see if I could get it to fit on my 1772 without tearing it up. It looks like that wont happen. A friend and I went in together and bought it. I will just give him my half since he has several tractors it will fit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
