Default Rehab of a 451 blower

Well, life has been real busy for me as I have been helping to restore a 49 jeep but I have made time to get my Dad's 451 back to like new condition. I took the gear box apart and made sure it had fresh grease and put it back together and then the sanding and painting started, boy it sure is a lot of work but it needed to be done, so here are the pics from last winter till today.

Now we decided to use the new majic paint so I went with school bus yellow. So far I am very happy with how this paint flow's and covers and will update as we progress.

It was a labor of love and patience. The most recent setback was I ordered a new set of auger sleeve bearings at our local Cadet dealer and the order got all messed up and was a 3 week endurance run till they got things straightened out and the sleeves came in. The color is very close to a match.

Sam My command 20 seems to handle the load now but have not seen any really deep snow in a couple of years. EricR has a front blade we have not used yet and am playing with the idea of using the blade on mine and his with a snow blower. We will see.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
