I am in wheel weight rut and have ran across a few sets of IH wheel weights. How much do they weigh each? I have had had quite a few other weights that seem to ride in the wheel more and are heavier. If I was to guess the IH weights weigh, maybe 25lbs.
The set I saw today was at small engine shop and was the first time I saw them unmounted. I have three tractors to bulk up. Funny that the IH weights are what I am running into. Only one set is for sure for sale and I dont know the price yet. |

I ran into three sets of the 26lb IH weights in the last few days, 2 sets were on non running tractors far and wide. Try as I might, I cant pass the cash to buy them. Cant find owner on one set and one owner wants to sell me a house to get the Cub. One sets at the engine shop painted silver, probably on a Massey. Shop owners son did not know what to sell them for and Dads at deer camp.
Hoping to find a beefy set like the Gilsons or Bolens. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
