This unit is stated to have a b600 kubota diesel in it wirh 1224 hrs on it. I'm not familiar with this model. Is the hours in line and how much do you think an average condition unit would/should sell for in Ohio.
Thanks. Randy |

The 882 was made in 1984. I would say the hours are at or a bit below normal use. That equals out to about 44 hours a season. Those Kubota engines are awesome and can last several thousand hours if they have been maintained well. They also sip fuel in comparison to the gas engines.

The hours are not much of an issue, a well-cared for D600 will run and run. Especially if the air and oil filters are religiously changed. Some folks who have been on the lookout for a diesel Cub will be willing to pay quite a bit. Let us know more on the condition, accessories and asking price.

Randy, that tractor is average but it has the wrong exhaust and that tunnel cover is not correct either. If your thinking of buying it I would plan on about $200 to replace the driveline unless the po replaced it. You also need to check the rear to make sure it isn't shot also. That machine should bring around $1500 on *bay in that condition. Good luck!

She doesn't appear to be that bad of an 882. A pressure washer would go a long way to cleaning off some of that faded yellow paint someone painted over the original paint. Oak is pretty spot on the price. If you could get it for less than $1500, it'd be an even better buy. Good luck and keep us posted if ya get it or not. Smokers sure are nice tractors, (hint, hint)!

I have one and love it. the only thing I'll say about it is, its no Supper. so if I ever find a 982 or any supper frame and the cast rear end, I'll be building a 882 supper for sure.

Thanks.
As usual your responses were very helpful. I think I'll pass on this one and stick with keeping my others in good shape. Having always had hydros I never thought I would ever be interested in gear drive again but after pulling a plow with my Model 72 I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I do think that I'll stick to my hydros when it comes to mowing. That 1864 is a fantastic mowing machine and I still like the tractor platform over the zero turn. Boy, did I stray off topic..... |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
