Good morning everybody!! I need some help, and here's the deal:
I turn the key, she slowly turns over about 3-4 times then nothing. I have bright lights so I don't think that its the battery. I tried hooking up jumper cables to her but that didn't help any. I got plenty of fresh gas in her. Basically I am clueless. ![]() Mike |

My entry to CC's and this forum were over a starting issue and an 1862. I don't know if any of it will pertain to you, but I found my original post in the archives. Decent amount of info on the electrical system and checks if you're interested. Go to the archives and search for "Please help with 1862". Good luck and enjoy your 1862, I know I like mine!

Papa:
Your light would burn brighter in that your load (amp draw) is far less than the load from the starter (3A vs ~70A). I would suggest by starting with charging up the battery and have it checked. Next, I agree with Adrian, the symptoms you describe sure sounds like a bad cable connection (corrosion, rust, oxidation, etc). Go through all your big cable connections to see if they are clean and tight. If all the above are good, then the possibility exists, that the starter is the issue.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
