Default How bout this one.

Saw this listed on the local craigslist. Said to be 1973, thought it'd be neat to have. Buyer wants $150, are these really worth that much?

Wild Bill, is exactly right, the only thing I can add is I saw one on epay quite some time ago that was "restored" if memory serves me correctly it went for nearly $300.00

It did look wery nice, new paint and decals that I understand are nla.

The real question is (just like with anything else) what is it worth to you?

Agreed on worth. Didn't know the market value. In my eyes I'd decided to pay no more than $100 given it's current condition.

In this economy, I really need to be holding on to my $ anyway!

Thanks!

If the deck is magnesium, then that increases the value because you can leave those things sit out in the rain, etc. and they don't rust!!! My parents had the old lawn boys with magnesium decks and they were always lighter to move around and lasted for over 25+ years---you just don't find that these days from any of the push mowers. In fact, recently my mom bought a new lawn boy and everyone of them comes with a steel deck. It moves like a tank....to bad, they had a great thing going and discontinued it. Although, if a rock hits a magnesium deck hard enough, it will put a good sized hole through it. I've never had that problem, but I've seen the result of it before. Best of luck!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
