Default Tiller and snow blade

Is it possible to lock the tiller in the up position so it can be used as weight on the back of the tractor for pushing snow with a blade?

It would save me some effort this year in getting weights for my 1450.

Thanks.

I'm sure you can if you want to, but it's going to be in your way, in my opinion. You won't be able to get it very high off the ground, so when you back up in deep snow, you'll get into trouble dragging it through the snow. You won't be able to back as close to buildings, fences, etc. The tractor will also be kinda long with both a tiller and a blade on it, which could make general maneuvering a bit cumbersome. I would fill the tires with washer fluid and keep your eyes open for weights.

I figured there probably was a way, and room isn't a problem out here in the prarie. However, I agree with you and think chains, fluid, and the adapter that was recently posted is the way to go until I find weights.

Isn't it funny how I planned for the tiller tractor to do just that: till, but now I want to do other things as well? What an addiction! Next thing I'll do is find a deck for it!

Yeah.......Looking at a Super now......5 acres needs a 50" deck, and I know of a Super that has one. Why just buy the deck when you can get a tractor attached to the one you need?

Of course, then I need a 2 stage snow blower, and must have a plow since I would have 4 tractors at that point....

When will I ever have money to fix up my old Dodge with all these tractors to play with!

Thanks for the info.

Anybody else have ideas on this? I am wanting to run a front and rear blade for dirt snow and gravel work. Im thinking about leaving the front stock and having the rear electronic or hydrolic lift.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
