This is going to drive me crazy.
I took off my Flex Disc Coupling (Rag coupling) on the rear of the drive shaft on my 1450 to fix the fan.
Today I went out and saw a large steel ball bearing lying under the tractor right under where the Flex Disc Coupling used to be. Here is a picture of the coupling and the ball bearing: ]   It will fit perfectly into the hole where the drive shaft fits. Looks like it could reside in the middle of the coupling between the drive shaft and the input shaft on the Hydro. I have been trying and find a diagram showing it a part of the coupling but no luck. Seem like it could take up space between the two shafts. Anyone know the answer?

Did some more digging and did find reference to it as part of a bearing inside the flex joint.
Mystery solved. I'm glad I saw it laying on the ground under my tractor.
