Awesome buy!! Be sure and service it well before using it.
If the chain is rusty, it should be soaked in some good penetrating oil and lubed good before use. If in doubt, replace it. They should only run 15-20$ at any implement store worth their salt. Just take the old one with you so they can match it up.

Good luck!
You are gonna love that thrower. What Cub are Ya gonna put it on?
Will work best on a hydro or if you have a gear drive w/creeper.

It kind of looks like that pin in the arm has two washers on it, if so then you might try removing one of them. Make sure that all of your bolts on the grill and frame are tight in that area--see if you can make some small adjustments on them to re-center your front nose piece, if you can spare room on the other side. If not, then you could put a longer pin in and use washers as spacers to adjust the arm out on the side to where it won't rub.

BTW: Sweet Deal!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
