Adaptation of belt to shaft drive snowthrowers
the housings on the later 2 stage snow blowers all look similiar. can the belt drive 190-450 blowers be converted to shaft drive ?and be turned into a 190-353 blower?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say.... yes, I think that could be done.
I checked out the drive on the two models in question, and although there are differences, I think with time and some good mod skills it could be done. The biggest issue I see is the lifting mechanism. They are completely different between the two models. The lifting mechanism on the 450 is right in front of the input shaft pulley. For the time involved..... your choice. If it were me, I'd look for the correct blower, or another tractor. Just my
