I just picked up a 125 and the starter generator belt kept flying off and I saw that the pulley was bent and dented pretty bad. It didn't have much of anything left that had anything to do with the PTO. It's all smashed up and I'm just going to get a whole front clutch so I can run a QA-42 I have available. Another problem is it revs really high because the governor can't control it because it's pretty loose, I think the governor spring just needs to be adjusted. It's either low idle or wide open, nothing in between.
Heres some of the PTO parts I've been looking at. The clutch itself(It looks rebuilt): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cub-Cadet-73...item2ecb9ad144 Would this fit on it? a clutch actuator from a 73:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cub-Cadet-72...item2ecc0ca7fa And this is what I need to actually run the tractor(will it fit on a 12 HP?): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cub-Cadet-14...item565f4daf6a Sorry for the long post and all the questions I'll see if I can get some pictures of the old girl...and of the mashed up generator pulley. ![]()

Why don't you post some pics. I can't begin to imagine that the PTO pulley is damaged and you would need a complete other one. They are, after all, cast iron. Now, it something failed on it and grooved it, that is a different story.
When you say the S/G pulley is bent, do you mean the one on the S/G itself? Or are you talking about the big pulley on the motor? ![]() Pics will clear up a lot of questions on this end. Unless the parts are completely missing on you tractor, most of that stuff should be able to be repaired. |

That clutch is toast...it has a broken spring and the thrust button is shot.

Well...... the pics definitely spoke a thousand words on this deal!
Lew is right, the PTO you posted a link to is not any good. You can buy it, but it will have to be rebuilt. Check with the sponsors at the top. IH Cub Cadet Parts (the sponsor on the bottom) has rebuilt units for the best price. One of the other ones I'm sure can get you the big pulley. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
