Default 1650 refurbish

Here are some pictures of my 1650 I am refurbishing. I was home today because school was closed and thought I would do some work to her and started stripping paint off a few parts and prime them. I am waiting for parts so I can put her back together. The PO fastened the air cleaner to the carb via wood screws so ill have to either retap the threads or change carbs.

I also have some parts in primer from my 1650 project so I'll be very interested in your progress. I guess your noticing that po's do some of the goofiest stuff to these tractors, such as fastening the air cleaner on with wood screws. The po of my tractor cut the corners out of fender pan behind the seat, so if I want the tractor to be original again I'll either have to change fenders or weld new corners into the original one. Why do they do this stuff? Good luck with your project

Default 1650 Refurb

Tonight after work I painted the bottom portion of the grill and primed the nose waiting for some warmer weather so I can finish the rest of the painting. Tomorrow is when some of my parts come for the 1650. And there will be more pictures.

Default 1650 Refurb

I got my parts yesterday and installed them in the tractor. And the first coat of white goes on the grill and nose piece, but sadly I ran out of paint lol. I guess this calls for a road trip to get some more paint and I also have to pick up a s/g that's been rebuilt for our 102.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
