Do you guys run the hytrans fluid you can get at tractor supply, or do you go to the dealer? I run the stuff from TSC in my big 404 tractor, and was thinking of using it in the 1782 as well. its a real long drive to the IH dealer vs 4 miles to tsc. the p/s cylinder is leaking a little when I turn all the way one way, so its gotten a little low.

i only run genuine HyTran. i don't have a cub or IH dealer with in 40 miles from me. i just order it online and it shows up at my door. it works out being cheaper that way. for me at least.

Running TSC hytran in the 882 for about 3 years now. Seems to operate just fine, and I'll be interested to see what it looks like inside on my next fluid change.

I have TSC in my 123 and I use the tractor alot all year. It's been in there for 2.5 years and so far it's been fine. I'm going to change it in the spring and see how it's been holding up.

Only Hy-Tran for me, I buy it in bulk @ 5.00$ a qt. The way I look at it, Hy-Tran has been used in my 149 for 40 yrs. So why take a chance on using something else. I also use only the CC hydro filter.

I use only hytran myself but if you are going to use the TSC stuff don't use hydraulic oil use tractor fluid there is a difference. Traveler is hyd oil and extreme tractor fluid is tractor fluid. Tractor fluid has more friction modifiers than hydraulic oil thus it will make your transmission last longer.

I've used HyTran, but have also used Shields universal tractor hydraulic fluid--says it meets HyTran specs. about $45/ 5gal pail.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
