Seems that we've had snow here all winter, but mostly just 2 or 3 inches at a time here and there. We got a good 5 or 6 inches Sunday, so I decided to get out the 1000 and have some fun. Today was the first I've had her out since last fall when I had a new throwout bearing installed, along with the engine cradle support mod., and muffler crutch brace. She started right up within 3 to 5 seconds.
I live in a small town, and the city plow guy was late getting out, so I did our alley, and most of the side street that I live on, as well as the aprons leading into 4 or 5 garages of friends and neighbors. Even did the post office parking lot, since they recently had some dispute resulting in the city not being allowed to do the post office and church lots anymore. Politics! I normally put on my 8.50 Firestones, weights, and chains, but I've been wondering how the chainless ags would do in the snow, so I gave it a try. I was surprised how well they did. Couldn't plow much going uphill on pavement without spinning, but otherwise plowed everything I attempted, as long as it was level or downhill. The upside was that I was able to hit 3rd gear to go back up a hill, and to get from point A to point B around town, without worrying about breaking a chain, or rattling my teeth out. I know, it was all a dream if there are no pics, so here ya go guys ... snapped a few when I took a break to thaw my face out. Josh ![]() ![]()

I spent 2 hours pushing snow around all the 3 months of ice that is sitting around and refuses to leave. I'm glad someone enjoyed it...I've about had it with this BS.

Last year I put 26X12X12 Firestone ags on my 2084. I did have a 54 in blade on that snow pusher and also 75lb wheel weights. Tires are not loaded but was able to push snow to the point I was becoming concerned about breaking something. I did switch to my 451 blower when Eric blew a belt on his and added a set of chains to the ags because of the weight out front and it still powers through anything I care to take on. Some here said that ags would not work well in the winter but both you and I have grins and not many spins with our setups.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
