Default Tire and Rim size
I know someone here compiled a table with tire sizes that will work on different size rims. I did a search and looked in the tech section, but didn't see it. Can anyone help me? I also thought I bookmarked it, but I guess not. I found a set of firestone 23-8.5x12 ag tires for what I think is a good price. They ought to mount up on my 149 right? I know I have 23-10.5x12 turfs on it now. I am just looking for something to put on if/when I take it to a plow day and for cutting grass on my rolling yard. Thanks for the help.

Also, since Jason started this topic, I've been wondering about FRONT tires/rims. I've got both 4.00-8 and 4.00 4.80-8 tires mounted on narrow rims. I've found the 4.00-8 to be taller. Also, I'm wondering what the difference is between 3.50-8 and 4.00-8.

6-12 uses a 5" rim IIRC.
23-8.50-12 uses a 7" rim.
23-10.5-12 uses an 8.5" rim.
26-12-12 uses an 8.5" rim.

A 3.50 x 8 front tire is not going to be as tall as a 4.00 x 8 or a 4.80 x 8 tire.

Hmmm...thanks guys. So, it looks like the 23-8.5x12 tires aren't going to work with the rims I have. Don't really want to buy new rims right now. Looks like I'll have to pass on the tires.

I assume these numbers are "recommended"....but is it possible to put 10.50's on my 7" rims?

I would still buy the tires. Those firestones are hard to find these day. Rims can be had cheap.

I wouldn't recommend it. They would be difficult to put on and would balloon out and look really dumb IMHO.
