Default 123 Carb

Yup on that carb! The bottom nut didnt even have any threads left.

Model 100 Feb 2019 apart for total frame-off / sandblast etc resto

Model 70 Sep 2020 needs total resto and an engine, or for parts
Model 70/100 Mar 2021 buried in rust, frozen engine, got free for parts.

Dang, that carb must be even worse than what you can see in the pictures/video. I probably coulda gotten away with using the 107's original carb but I like the shiny Chinesey's look on it. Besides, the screws that hold the choke and throttle plate on those always seem to shear off 100% of the time, it seems as though they did something to the threads to keep them from coming off. Sure don't make it easy when you want to rebuild one though...

Or maybe it's just my bad luck?

The threads are intentionally braded over, so if the little screws come loose
they won't wind up imbedded in the head and/or piston top.
a small file or small stone on a die grinder, will take care of the braded thread,
allowing normal removal of the butterfly screws, both choke & throttle shafts.

Hey so it wasn't just my bad luck! I knew something didn't look normal on those screws. Woulda been helpful to know a while ago, but that are you gonna do eh? At least I know that now for when I start looking into whether or not my 147's carb is saveable.
