i bought a new brinly disc from northern tool last week.
trying to put this thing together and there is a serious design flaw. the rods for the axles are just a tad too large, they slip in but they get stuck then the axle will not turn. i would have bought a used one if i had found one for the right price in my area, this is aggravating to me, i dont have a machine shop handy, at this point i am ready to toss this china pig iron back in the box and return it for a refund.

Oh yeah you gotta love some of this new junk
![]() . My wife and I just bought a new sprayer this weekend and assembled it. I had a similar problem with the axle...the holes didn't even line up to slide the shaft through but with a little modification I got it to work. Let us know what you end up doing.

No, they don't make things like they used too it seems. I've got the disc, cultivator & plow from the 70's. Still work good as new & luckily they were all assembled. The box scraper is newer, but not much to put together. I'd take that junk back and find a older used one of possible. Maybe if they keep coming back they'll pay more attention to quality control

Not being there to see the problem nor having any pictures, I won't answer to the flaw.
HOWEVER, It is my expressed opinion that if we do not return defective, poorly made, problematic... goods, they will continue to sell this crap to us. If "we the people" don't demand better, no one has any incentive to make ANYTHING better.

Well, at least you probably DID NOT pay $550 for it like the older Brinly at an auction near here sold for last Saturday only because it was wearing Case red and green paint!! And the Brinly 12" plow and a Case/Ingersoll snow thrower right next to it went for the same price.....EACH!!!
"Choice" auctions really suck big time!!! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
