I just purchased a 1864 yesterday I will upload pics soon but I'm just wondering if any of you out there have any information on what I should be looking for as far as potential problems that are common to that tractor thanks

This thread is on a roached out 1641 I picked up last year. Not that yours is this condition but you can see some of the areas that can be problematic. tractor are pretty much the same except for the engines and yours has power steering. If you would like a copy of the service manual send me a PM with your e-mail address. Congrats on the 1864, great tractor.

Do yourself a favor and build/buy a front bumper for it. Or just don't bump the front end. The plastic doesn't like that.

Also, be gentle taking the side panels off/on and raising the hood.

Best garden tractor I ever owned.

I do love mine! Except for the plastic. The bumper is a good idea.

Next best thing to a super. The power steering is nice. I hope to have mine running again someday.

Congrats. Can't wait to see some pics. Worse part, the "sheet metal" AKA "frail fiberglass". Ask me how I know about that plastic stuff.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
