Oh my... Where to begin with this one...?
(I'm too lazy at the moment, so let google walk your fingers) #1 - Power's Hamburgers, Fort Wayne, IN... These are a Fort Wayne staple and can literally be smelled from blocks around. Small burgers made of fresh ground chuck and heaps of fresh onions, coated with mustard and ketchup, grilled on the same approximately 30"x40" flat top for about 70 years now... It's like White Castle/Krystal (which I do also love, but not the same) on crack + meth and it sends you checks every month... It's that good.... #2 - Coney Island Wiener Stand, Fort Wayne, IN... Simply the best coney dogs you'll ever have. I haven't been to NY to the real CI, but I've been go Chicago and all around the central and southern states, this is the best hands down. CI FTW has been in continuous operation for over 100 years. ------------ #3 - Liberty Diner, Fort Wayne, IN. ONLY FOR ONE DISH IN THIS EXCLUSIVE LIST! Country fried steak... Order it with extra gravy, veg delete, and double hash browns + extra onions and well done. NO ONE DOES THIS DISH FINER! I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE A YANKEE OR A REBEL! THE- BEST! ----------- And of course my own Brat and Rib recipes are the best on the planet.... I'm willing to air-mail throw down those two.. ----------- Best pizza around the mid-west? (again... I've tried Chi-town a time or two and left impressed) but Carmella's Pizzeria in Dayton, OH is my choice for NY style (as I've heard... never been) pizza. Their bacon-chicken-ranch pizza (-mixed peppers, plus mushrooms, plus black olives) is mind boggling. I used to lived near Dayton and simply wasn't allowed home w/o pizza in tow. I have also made the trip back down exclusively for the pizza. Anyone trucking slip off on exit 21 US-70E in OH for a treat. The town is a touch tight for rigs but the parking in front of the store is ample. For those in "The Fort", Mancino's can be trained withing 80% of Carmella's... Not a bad substitute. |

This is an easy one; I'd send them a Gyro from a little hole in the wall restaurant called Sow Bellies. This is fresh cooked, fresh shaved meat on a pita that'll make your mouth water just smelling it. Top it with there fresh onions, tomatoes, and dressing with a side of there crisp, lightly salted skinny fries and you have one heck of a good lunch or dinner.
And for those that don't like such delicacies, I'd go with a local pizzeria. I'll even copy what I said in another thread (and all these places are within 10-15 minutes of each other ):Want spaghetti pizza? Go for Maria's or Angelo's. Calzone? Maria's is where it's at. Want a good garbage pizza? Go to Al & Lida's or, again, Angelo's. Perhaps a good greasy sausage pizza is what you're craving? Try Perna's Pizza. Don't forget to sample some J&W's 3rd Base pizza while you're at it! I could go on and on (chicken bacon ranch, BLT pizza, taco pizza), but I think you get the point ![]() Oh, oh! Since we're giving three choices, if chicken is your thing, go for Candlelight. The BEST chicken george around with there home made Jan Sauce. Ok, 4 places (last one); for chicken tenders, go to Galena Steak House in Dixon, IL. Thick chicken, thick crispy batter, your choice of dipping sauce, salad bar included, fries, and a side dish (coleslaw, soup, etc). Such a delectable feast they offer. Ok, I'm done; I leave work in about ten minutes and I'm going to go enjoy a cold one and a couple hours of mowing

You can't beat a good Italian cook at home. My favorite dish is chicken masala. But I can't cook Chinese. The best buffet is Teppanyaki Grill and Supreme buffet 908 I-70 Dr, Columbia, MO 65203. I'm there just about every other Sunday when I take my granddaughter home. I'd Be glad to meet anyone there.

I like this thread. Being from NY I'm somewhat of a pizza snob and search Central Florida for NY and NJ style pizza places. Best pizza on earth as far as I'm concerned. My favorite Italian dish linguini with red clam sauce from Luigis, owner used to be a head chef in Manhattan at some five star place, glad he moved here.
However, you Illinois guys have the market when it comes to Chicago dogs and Italian beef, amazing. I'm going on vacation there some day just to eat, not kidding. Not saying deep dish is bad, great pizza but just not what I'm used to. If anyone comes to FL for vacation, PM me, I have some places you have to go to. Down home places since Florida is a melting pot of every other state. Oh, and I might mention that my wife and I import hotdogs from Smiths hotdogs from Erie, PA. They are some of the best regular hotdogs I've had. Oh, and we have good BBQ in the south, local competitions and such, always up for for something different though, like a BBQ egg roll, you should try one, all I have to say is wow, my arteries hurt.

Man do I miss this in VA. Pizza Hut just doesn't get it. Nothing like a white garlic & onion pizza.

Mid Town Restaurant in downtown Gillett. They have the best burgers, and their home made pies are to die for. They've won pie making championships throughout the US.
I also like going to the Tilted Kilt. They have a great.....what was that again? I forgot, but it was good

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
