Default New pick-up today

Picked up a 1810 with a bad engine today. Got several good parts. Nice 50" deck with new center double pulley, new muffler, 4 rear tires, 1 new front tire, new blades on deck. Check out the PO mods. I am not sure what the smoke stack in the air intake is used for. Maybe to pour gas in if it will not start???

Are you going to re-use the air cleaner smokestack on the new engine when you re-power it?

Nice find! I had a 682 a while back with the same exact stinking fuel pump on it. I do believe I still have it sitting on a shelf somewhere as that thing got replaced as soon as I could!

Edit: On the 5th pic, what is that hose going into/coming from the top of the gas tank?!

looks like that "stack" is a homemade ether injection port. so you don't have to take the air cleaner off every time. must be a hard starter magnum.

I looked the pump up and it is 2-3 psi or so, but 42 gallons an hour. I think it is the over flow from what does not go into the carb.

I am not going to repower, just a parts machine. I have a 1811, another 1810 and a 1872 so it have some good stuff. I figured someone on here would want the smoke stack. May even have to auction it off.

What is bad about this mower is, only 900 hours and it is fithy in the hood. It was dirty even under the filter. I know he mowed with it last week or so, because as I was loading the 1810 a mower dealer was unloading a new zero turn.

I bet there was a lot of dirt being sucked in by the looks of the aircleaner.

Yes there is grass under the filter. The engine he said still will turn over, I have not had a chance to see what is wrong. My first guess is governor gear, because there is no window in the block.

I found the problem with the engine. From the driver view, left side rod is broken. The valves do not move when the engine rotates. The cylinder bore looks great. I wander if it is worth tearing down and seeing if could be fixed?
