Well, we got our first killing frost here in Mid Michigan this week. Was out late yesterday afternoon, doing the last mow for the 2014 season. Get things all tidied up and trimmed this weekend. Then off with the decks.
Focusing on now....snow removal equipment.

We've had some cool weather here, but the grass is still growing well. I might get 2 more mowings this year. What I need is dry enough weather to sandblast my snow thrower, and then a day warm enough to paint!

I mowed some the other night. Need to mow the back field, was hoping to get my k301 back together in time and give it a work out ( grasss is 10" tall ) but may have to push some snow with it don't know . Love my 1211 hydro ,don't wanna have to raise and lower blade by hand with the 1200.

I need to mow again. I'm hoping it's the last time. Not that I prefer the next "job" I will be doing with my cubs.
Already started rounding up parts for the snow moving equipment. I am looking forward to a killing frost here, but it doesn't look like it will be for another couple weeks. It would really help the crop dry if we got one. to summer! Till we meet again next year, I'll be waiting.....

We had a light frost here, took out the Lima beans, but the rest is fine. I mow a few times after frost, till about thanksgiving. The shorted the grass is, the less the leaves collect, they just blow through to the neighbors.
Besides, we don't usually get snow till Xmas or later. Bill |

I don't know how much more mowing I'll be doing here either. Thinking about mounting up the tiller and making a clean- up garden pass, then doing more serious thinking about mounting the snow removal equipment.
It's not the colder days or lack of things growing that I'm having trouble accepting, it's the lack of prolonged sunlight. That's getting harder and harder to swallow each day.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
