10 has the flat pan, takes 1 qt. 12-16 have the hump for the longer stroke they take 1.5 . if they had the wide base pan (not a cub pan ) they would all take 2 qts

I read my fm...
![]() This Kohler manual has an asterisk.... meaning the footnote says "Capacity varies from 1 to 1 3/4 quarts" for the K241A, K301A, K321A and the K341A. Huh???

I did. They ALL say 3pts. Every one of the books does, except the Kohler manual. Which says 2qts for the regular K241, and 1qt (+/- 1-1.75qts) for the K241A. All operator manuals for every series of tractor with a "K" series motor says 3pts.
I'm disappointed in me too...... But, I didn't remember them being different, and apparently the books are all wrong. ![]() I'm not gonna lie, I usually just dump a quart in, and check it. If it needs more, add it, if not.... golden. Oh well. Guess I can't every time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
