Default Hello from WI!

Hello Folks, I am currently living in SE Wisconsion (Go Pack Go) but originally grew up in SE Iowa on our family farm.

I have been a life long IH fan, grew up on an all red equipment farm, and the first pass I ever made on a lawn mower happened to be on a 982 Cub. Unfortunately, my dad sold it a few years ago and upgraded to a Dixie Chopper. The 982 was a great machine, but when you have 6+ acres of yard to mow that Dixie will just run circles around it .

I have recently acquired a 3-cylinder Kubota D722 diesel engine and if possible, I would really like to re-power either a 782 or 982 depending what I come across that's up for sale.

Hope to bounce a few ideas/thoughts off you guys in the future! Glad to be here!

Welcome aboard! GO BEARS!!!! Just kiddin'!

Those little Kubota's are tough engines. Ask away on any questions.

Grotenhuis,
My uncle is a Vet up in the Sheboygan area. He used to breed/raise dogs as well. Beautiful country up there.

Wow, what a small world. Yep, Dr. Jim Spicer is my uncle. Was German Shepards. Uncle Jim recently had a stroke so it has slowed him down some. I keep thinking he'll retire someday. My folks were up there this past weekend. Jim's son just got married.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
