hey guys well picked this 67 102 up the other day for $450, it runs great starts up perfect and all seems to work great but needs a few things. It needs a teaser spring so she's gonna come apart somewhat and get a fresh paint job and decals. A little background on it, the guy I bought it from got it from the original owner who was a 91 year old lady, she bought it brand new from the cub cadet dealer in 67 and it was always serviced at the same dealer. ive got a set of manuals with it which is pretty nice. If the old lady was still alive id show her it after I was done with it. So guys it should look pretty nice when im done let me know what you guys think.

We'll guys I know it will be original once but I has had touch ups with a paint brush , there is mis matched spots on the hood and the wheels , some one painted the air cleaner , and the engine parts others then the block are all different yellows, she needs clutch work so if I'm yanking the engine it's getting paint and new decals want it pretty nice cause that's the way I do it, hopping to get some work done today on it but need to order some parts also

Eric and I did the same thing to my old 102 made in 65. We too were having clutch troubles and when we took the drive shaft out it was worn half way through there at the clutch. We posted a pic of it and one guy said it looked more like a cam shaft than a drive shaft. I agree that they are only original once but there comes a time when as the owner you must decide to restore or not. If you do not look really close our restored 102 looks like it is brand new and we no longer need to use it regularly so it should last a very long time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
