Default LP head

Can anyone show me what the top and bottom of a lp head looks like. I know the head bolts are flush with the fins but not sure what the bottom looks like. I bought a 10hp kohler this weekend for 45 bucks missing the s/g and pto clutch. PO said it just stopped running. But no head gasket from what I can see. Just wanted to see if I maybe found a lp head.

I don't think its a lp head. The one on the left came off my mower and the one on the right came off a 10hp I just bought. Looks little different. Is it a good head for power or what

I think the one on the right is a newer gen, but could be an LP. The relief looks too deep to me to be an LP. I'm sure it's a newer generation style head.

This is an LP head:

If it's not cracked, clean it up and plane it. Looks fine to me!

I knew the one on the left wasn't. Just wondering if the newer generation head will give any more power or burn fuel better

best way to id a LP head is no dump area between the valves and the cylinder. just flat. the head on the right is a basic 10 hp head. its got a little more compression than the 12 hp head on the left. you can put them on 12's and 14's and they work fine

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
