I need an opinion on this and I know this is a popular topic on the Quietline models. I am replacing the iso mounts on my 1250 and 4 of the 8 rubber mounts are in pretty good shape as they were not under most of the weight of the engine. Would it be best to use all brand new stock rubber iso mounts from cub cadet or could I use the 4 old mounts for the bottom of the mounting rail and 4 new mounts for the top of the rail. Some claim that using the softer rubber old stock suppresses much of the vibration than using all new harder mounts. What have some of you guys used and what do you think works best.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! |

Your two best options are: replace all ISO's with solid mounts OR what you suggested; buy two new sets from CCC and put the new ones on the top, old ones on the bottom or the other way around. The new ones will last longer than the old ones would on the bottom, but the old ones will be "broken in" and may be a bit softer, but it won't be too much. Good luck!

It sounds like solid motor mounts are the way to go. One more question, how is the motor vibration with using the solid mounts? Is there noticeable vibration felt when driving, less vibration, or is there no real difference in vibration noticed between the solid mounts or using the new CCC rubber mounts. I only want to have this motor out once so I want to get it right the first time.

Those mounts seem to be very good quality. As soon as I get a couple minor bills pad off im ordering two sets. One for my 1200 and one for my 1450 and as far as vibration goes ive had a solid mount 1250 and it was no worse then my sons 127

Question Jeff, do you have to change the three pin driver to a non eyeball bushing one or can you keep the quiet line 3 pin when you change to solid mounts?

I suppose you can stay with it. But they are usually cracked. If you have one in good shape I see no reason not to keep it. I'd switch to the solid style just because the solid style is heavier.
