Default Short block assembly
A video which I have found highly informative on how to put together an engine. Camera person asks a ton of questions during the hour long video from the perspective of a person who knows next to nothing about engines, making this very useful for those of us who don't work on engines on a daily basis. The work is done on a Subaru boxer engine, so not quite the same as the engines found in our cubs, but the general principles are the same for all engines. Enjoy!

So.....
We have a guy. A "master tech". Seems knowledgeable. Looks like he's done this a few times before. Seems to be confident. BUT, he is putting a motor together outside, in a driveway, on the ground on cardboard. Garage in the background. Vice on the concrete drive. Not the best place to assemble a motor in case he didn't know. Maybe the garage on a work bench would maybe be a better place? Oh well. Not my motor.

Agreed Jon! I just watched the first couple minutes. My guess is it was done outside for lighting and production value of the video.

thats exactly what i was going to say, the lighting in the shop probably wasnt bright enough to get a good clear video.

I wondered about lighting issues...... but I would have thought that a couple halogen lights would have fixed that. Not like he is making movie. At least a disclaimer about cleanliness, and proper work areas would have made me feel better.

I'm sure I'm being too hard on it. But honestly, if I had questions about how to assemble a motor, Youtube would be my absolute last resort. If I even bothered to look there at all. Just sayin.
