I have a 126 from built in 1971. I just recently started finding fuel in the filter. Nothing dripping from the filter housing, but the bottom of the filter is saturated and heavy. It does start a little rough from the high vapor to air mix but runs fine once warmed up. Before I take it apart, any suggestions on where I should concentrate my search for the issue?

its probably the needle/seat or the float is sticking.

If you mean that the air filter is wet then as olds56612 suggests the float is sticking/bad/out of adjustment, OR the needle and seat are bad or have crud in them.
Rebuilding these carburetors sounds intimidating, but they really are pretty easy.

Don't my let the carburetor intimidate you there pretty straight foreward and simple. I've rebuilt my 2 had the apart and cleaned them up too , think I could do it blindfolded now!
